After graduating from a prominent medical school in India, he did his residency in Internal Medicine at Crozer Chester Medical Center (Temple University), Pennsylvania. He then completed a fellowship in Geriatric medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University at Richmond Virginia. He practiced Inpatient Internal Medicine as a hospitalist in the Washington DC suburbs and Austin, Texas, before going on to fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. He completed two years of subspecialty training in Infectious Diseases. His research interests include Hepatitis C treatment and comparative outcomes in Carbapenem therapy of complicated gram negative infections.
